Project Description
NASCOH has successfully completed a 4-year project on HIV and AIDS running under the theme “Addressing critical gaps in HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment, care and support for people with disabilities in Zimbabwe” in which it trained 1 700 people with disabilities in 30 districts in all of Zimbabwe’s 10 provinces. People with disabilities were trained in HIV prevention, literacy and adherence and as HIV and AIDS counsellors. The full report is available here.

The project on Strengthening Election Administration and civic participation for people with disabilities in Zimbabwe was coordinated by the National Association of Societies for the Care of the Handicapped (NASCOH) working in partnership with 8 Provincial Officers (POs) from its member organisations.

Following the inception activities that debuted with a flurry of social media, BVR orientation and monitoring workshops conducted by IFES and other strategic partners, which afforded NASCOH an opportunity to sensitive the IFES consortium on the need to mainstream disability in all their projects, activities, plans and policies.
